ASI achieves ARRB TIPES Certification in Australia
The successful completion of the Sydney Airport runway 07/25 project in May 2019, was the trigger for Downer to submit Rhinophalt for ARRB TIPES Certification, which has now been successfully achieved.
The Transport Infrastructure Product Evaluation Scheme (TIPES) provides an independent fit-for-purpose assessment of innovative road construction products and is endorsed by all Australian State and territory road agencies.
Rhinophalt is a sustainable treatment that preserves and protects asphalt surfaces, extending the service life of both the asphalt and underlying pavement.
Rhinophalt is the only preservative containing natural bitumen to be BBA HAPAS (UK) and CE (EU) approved following extensive trials on the M40 in UK. International performance claims and results from 12 months of site testing were included in the assessment that recommended Rhinophalt for TIPES Certification.
ASI Solutions Ltd & Downer would like to acknowledge the assistance of both ARRB and the TIPES Panel for certifying Rhinophalt as the first ‘Penetrative Asphalt Preservative’ to gain approval for use on Australian Roads.
Ross Ioakim, Regional Manager Aust/NZ for ASI Solutions Ltd looks forward to demonstrating the benefits of Rhinophalt to extend the life of roads and runways whilst lowering the environmental impact of maintaining asphalt surfaces.
